Laibach Pinotage
The Daddy of all wines, this is one of South Africa's finest examples of this grape variety. Winemaker Francois van Zyl is good mates with Beyers Truter(the king of Pinotage)and has styled this version to capture big bold plum flavours and complex fruit whilst still retaining a smooth creamy texture. Aged in oak the wine is deep purple in colour, exhibiting lovely juicy flavours. Warm and pleasing on the palate, this gold medal winner is Pinotage at its very best.
Kanonkop Pinotage 2009, Stellenbosch
Kanonkop is undoubtedly one of the top estates in South Africa and their highly sought after Pinotage shows this South African variety at its best. Full-bodied and concentrated, this powerful wine, showing lashings of spicy oak flavours integrated with ripe berry fruit, is best left alone for a couple of years before drinking.

Backsberg Pinotage
South Africa's signature grape, (derived by crossing Cinsault and Pinot Noir), has now created an international following. When carefully grown with limited yields, it produces an appealing red fruit aroma, a soft palate with ripe mulberry, sweet strawberry and a touch of herbs. Easy drinking well balanced with supple tannins, this Cape red displays lively fresh flavours.
Backsberg Cabernet Merlot 'Klein Babylonstoren'
This red wine under the famous Kleinbabylonstoren 'Black label' is a specially crafted cuvee on the basis of varietal intensity and character. Released with good bottle age to match similar blends from Bordeaux this exceptional red wine has notes of violets, cassis and dried herb aromas. On the palate there is an intense forward flavour of blackberry, cinnamon and vanilla which is beautifully balanced with hints of vanilla from ageing in oak barrells. Although rich and instantly appealing, it has classic structure and supple tannins and a delicious ripe smooth balanced complexity.

The Murphy family migrated from Ireland in 1909 and were some of the first settlers in Mildura. Laibach Merlot
This is a top drop, Wine Magazine recently rated this Merlot as the best in South Africa. No surprise when you know that winemaker Francois Van Zyl is passionate about this grape having worked and been a fan of Pomerol wines from Bordeaux. Hand selected grapes and natural free run juice, produces a ruby red colour, with a rich and complex aroma. Clearly defined notes of mocha, violets and seductive plumminess lead through to silky ripe tannins which are supported with spicy notes. This sensational award winning wine has a great depth of flavour and good length.
Rietvallei Estate 'Wild Rush' Cabernet Tinta Barocca
A clever blend of the classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Bordeaux with one of the traditional Port grapes. Lots of attractive fruit flavours on the nose which also carries through onto the palate with an additional hint of spiciness. Well balanced with a touch of toastiness and lingering after taste, this has smooth mid weight fruit and is a cracking example of a simple Cape Red wine.
Backsberg Merlot
Pungent aromas of raspberry and red plums are tempered by the deft use of French oak. The palate is redolent with succulent, sweet fruit aromas and finely coated in ripe mouth filling tannins. Smokey and savoury oak characters provide a subtle background to this complex and well balanced wine.

Tulbagh Merlot
Quite full and expressive, with a strong but spicy plum warmth in the fruit, this Cape Merlot clearly reflects the sunny vineyards from which it originates. Delicious forward style immediately appealing with crunchy flavours and a fresh, smooth inviting finish with a hints of blackberry and herbal notes.

Stonedale Shiraz
This attractive spicy red is from the estate vineyards of a sixth generation family winery located in the Cape region of Robertson. Stonedale Shiraz is soft and appealing with ripe berry fruits, a touch of pepper and a hint of toasty oak. The palate is supple, well balanced and concentrated.
Porcupine Ridge Syrah Viognier 2010, Western Cape
From top South African producer Boekenhoutskloof comes this sensational red from the fashionable blend of Syrah (red grapes) and Viognier (white grapes). The Viognier adds a slightly perfumed profile to the ripe, spicy flavours of the Syrah.
KC Cabernet Merlot 2009, Klein Constantia, Coastal Region
Klein Constantia lies on the narrow Cape Peninsula, only 20km from the centre of Cape Town, where there is exposure on all sides to the maritime influences of the southern Atlantic and the False Bay area, which moderate the tempratures within the Constantia Valley. Typically South African in style, with a deep ruby core of ripe fruit and spicy aromas from 20 months' barrel ageing. Weighty and richly textured, with plenty of fine tannins providing a lasting finish. Matches well with roast beef or any hearty red meat dishes.
Laibach 'Cuvee Friedrich'
It has been said many times but vintage 2003 was just one of those exceptional harvests producing beautifully mature and well balanced grapes with harmonious acidity and velvety tannins. This has allowed the wine to show great potential and age gracefully.They produced only 28 barrels of this flagship blend using all four of the classic Bordeaux varieties giving extra dimension. A classic Laibach red wine, dark in colour with aromas of cassis, pencil shavings and wild spices. Quality oak adds creamy complexity leading to a lovely ripe juicy red flavour with elegance and finesse. This finishes with a stylish almost savoury and velvety overtone. Rietvallei Estate Shiraz Petit Verdot Viognier
These sun drenched are perfect for ripening the spicy and juicy Shiraz grape. Notes of black pepper and cinnamon are evident before tumbling into a complex blueberry and Pomegranate infusion. Light hints of toasty oak add a pleasant creamy texture to a smooth raisin and Christmas cake finish.
Rietvallei Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Grown on the warmer soils of the farm and picked at optimum ripeness, this estate wine displays fruity berry flavours. Juicy tannins are evident on the palate with a good balance between fruit and wood. The wine is rounded off nicely with a subtle sweetness and a lovely silky finish.

Backsberg Pumphouse Shiraz
Selected from mature vineyards that show intense varietal character including black cherry, pepper and spice. Whilst full bodied, the fruit is ripe and sweet and the tannins are soft. A subtle mint and vanilla complexity is derived from a period of maturation in barrel and enhances the long finish.
