JERMANN - Pinot Grigio 2010 75cl Bottle
An intense straw yellow colour with a faint tinge of old rose. Beautifully pure, elegant, floral Pinot Grigio. The bouquet is full and fruity. A touch of almonds and vanilla, a hint of fruit and spice on the palate, a smooth and dry full-bodied white which is particularly harmonious and accessible. Pasta with caramelised onions, cabbage, and smoked ham, duck breast with fennel and currant butter sauce, grilled lobster with creamy chilli vinaigrette or gingered fish and watercress soup.
Jacob's Creek Three Vines Shiraz Grenache Sangiovese Rose 500ml
Medium bodied with wonderful fresh acidity. The tradtional plum raspberry, and creamy cassis are indicative of the Shiaraz and Grenache. There is also a floral note and firmer textured finish courtesy of the Sangiovese in the blend. This is very much the 'modern' style of Australian Rose. It is savoury and dry rather than confectionary and sweet making it a genuine partner to a variety of different foods.

DOMAINES SCHLUMBERGER - Les Prince Abbes, Gewurztraminer, 2007 75cl Bottle
Colour: Golden yellow with light green reflections and good intensity. Nose: Concentrated and distinguished. Exotic aromas of grapefruit, citrus and lychee are coupled with the floral characters of rose and peony. Aerating amplifies these scents but also reveals cumin and spices. Palate: Full bodied and well integrated with de defined vinocity. The palate mirrors the nose but with distinctive spicy character. A classic Gewurztraminer profile and good long finish. Food Matching: Asian, Indian & Chinese Cuisine, Seafood (Crab), Munster Cheese. The majority of Gewurztraminer grapes are sourced from the BOLLENBERG and BUX vineyards. The remainder is made up with grapes from the young vines in the Grand Cru vineyards. After slow pneumatic pressing the must is left to settle on the lees. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled tuns for between 1 and 4 months. The wine is then left to age for a further 6 to 8 months on the lees. Probably the most renowned wine in Alsace, Traminer comes from the North of Italy and dates back to the 16th century. Gewurztraminer (literally spiced or musky Traminer) is a selection of the most aromatic Traminers, and becomes Gewurztraminer 1950.

N/V Golden Samena, Cooperative Cellars of Samos
The Union of Samos winery was established on this Northern Aegean, abruptly mountainous island (named 'Samos' by the Phoenicians: 'rise by the sea') in 1934, based on the French 'co-operative' model. The locals are fiercely proud of their heritage: Pythagoras, Aesop, Epicurus and a 3,000 year-old tradition of winemaking. Richly-scented and intensely-flavoured, 'Golden Samena' is a true 'wine with altitude', made from Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains grapes (the finest Muscat variety) grown on the high, sun-drenched slopes of Mount Ampelos. Savour the lovely dry peach, rose petal and tangerine zest flavours.

CHATEAU D'ESCLANS - Esclans Rose 2010 75cl Bottle
One step up from Whispering Angel; includes some Grenache from 8-year-old vines, with Cinsault, Rolle and Syrah. Destemmed, fermented cool, with a proportion managed in demi-muids as well as steel. Freshness in abundance on the nose, a little creaminess to the fruit aromas, although there are more complex notes of angelica and liquorice too. Very nicely composed on the palate. A good finish with just a little length. Very nice.
