DELAMAIN - Tres Venerable 70cl Bottle
Delamain Très Vénérable Grande Champagne Cognac is blended from a range of Cognacs averaging 45 to 50 years of age, which have been reduced by natural evaporation to approximately 45 percent alcohol by volume. It is brought to 40 percent consumption strength by the gradual addition of 'vieilles faibles, 'very old, weak Grande Champagne Cognacs showing a natural alcohol content of 15 percent. The unusual label design is taken from a French Revolutionary bank note. Introduced in 1976, this rare Cognac inspires the respect and reverence its name, and age, suggest. Brilliant deep topaz in colour with gold highlights, its profound, complex bouquet reveals subtle nuances of dried fruits, licorice and mellowed oak. An initial freshness and delicacy on the palate unfold into a rich, palette of mature flavours underscored by sophisticated 'rancio', notes of fruitcake and cheese. A Cognac of perfect balance with exceptional length on the finish. Extraordinary delicacy in a rich, full flavoured cognac. Floral spice aromas give way to complex scents of underwood, raisins, vanilla, licorice and honey.

Las Moras Sauvignon Blanc (Hand-harvested)
Las Moras Estate offers fantastic red wines, but its white wines are equally internationally renowned and critically acclaimed. The Best Wine Producer in Argentina 2005 offers this elegant wine, bursting with exotic fruit aromas of peach and pineapple. Wonderfully fresh on the palate and with a long finish, the Winedeal team instantly fell in love with its modern and chic style.More on the Bodega...Stunning, original and sublime - three words which summarise the success story of Las Moras. This fantastic bodega has enjoyed much international success and acclaim, notably from Robert Parker, Decanter and IWSC. The Estate has also won Best Argentinian Producer of the Year twice! The Estate Las Moras, meaning the blackberries, is surrounded by blackberry bushes. It is a sign the harvest will be good when the bushes grow healthily and quickly! The Estate will soon be certified organic, as the exceptional conditions of the Tulum Valley (at 650m altitude) mean that the use of phytosanitary products must be limited. The Estate enjoyed a new lease of life when internationally-renowned winemaker Daniel Ekkert joined and transformed the vineyard in 2002, having finished producing one of the greatest sauvignons in the world from the Languedoc region of South West France. Castillo Santa Paulina Sauvignon Blanc
This wine is perfect for dry white wine enthusiasts. It bursts with notes of exotic fuits and has a wonderful freshness. This white wine comes just in time for the season. Fruity and refreshing, it will be ideal with fish or summery salads!More about Chile...The vineyards in Chile spread over 180,000 ha and lie at the border of the Pacific Ocean on the West and the Andes on the East. A new era of continous improvement started in 1850 when famous French wine makers realised the region's great potential and came over with their skills and vinification techniques. Chilean wine has become increasingly popular since the seventies and has clearly tickled our taste buds! The vineyards enjoyed another wave of investment and improvement techniques in the 1990s, which has allowed Chilean wine to compete on the international scene. Chilean wine is definitely worth a try, even for those who belong to the Old World school of thought! We are sure that it is only the beginning of the success story and that a lot of new exciting and fascinating wines are waiting just around the corner! And another thing... Chilean vineyards are the only ones in the world that have not been touched by phylloxera, a bug that damaged European and American vineyards in the 1900s. Some of the vines are 140 years old and are able to produce very rich, complex and well-structured wines.

Jim Barry Shiraz 'The Armagh' 2006, Clare Valley, South Australia
Lying on a north-west-facing slope of the Clare Valley, Jim Barry's vineyard is a natural sun trap, providing superb ripening conditions for Shiraz. Dense and purple in colour, the wine has an abundance of blackberry and mulberry flavours, with notes of mint and eucalyptus adding tremendous complexity on the palate, leading to a long finish packed with cinnamon, star anise and hints of rosemary. Aged in French and American oak for 17 months, the wine is polished and generous in its youth, but will develop immeasurably given 10+ years in bottle.
TYRRELLS - Double Barrel 24 Shiraz 2003/05 75cl Bottle
The Tyrrell family are proud to release their new super Shiraz, DB24. This wine represents a new approach to red winemaking at Tyrrell's. The concept for DB24 was to create a contempory Shiraz that still maintains the Tyrrell stamp of finesse and elegance. Approximately 90% of the Shiraz grapes were sourced from McLaren Vale, and picked to have both the extract and fleshiness of fruit typical of the region. Approximately 10% of Heathcote Shiraz was blended back to the base wine to add structure and finesse. The double new oak maturation for 12 months each, is the derivation of the name DB24. The vintage was affected from drought conditions in the summer of 2003 which left crop levels down by as much as 50% in some instances. With the limited quantity, there was certainly no lack in quality with intense flavour and deep colour. Picking began on the 7th March, 20 days earlier than 2002. Fermented at the Hunter Valley headquarters in large potter tanks then transferred to new French oak. After 12 months the wine was then trasferred back into special new oak casks that were hand selected by Bruce Tyrrell from the Vicard Cooperage in Cognac. These barriques had profiled interior to increase the wood to wine ratio. The wine was bottled in May 2005. A modern style of Australian Shiraz that has harnessed the strengths of these two great wine regions. The Mclaren Vale gives the wine the extract and fleshiness for which it is renowned and the 10% Heathcote adds savoury undertones and gives the wine balance. The finish is long, and held together well by a thread of acidity. The lunar calendar illustrated on this label has been the vigneron's timepiece: signalling when to harvest, when to cellar and when to enjoy. This wine is matured for 12 months each in double new oak and is the derivation of the name Double Barrel 24. The concept for this wine was to create a contemporary Shiraz that still maintains the Tyrrell stamp of finesse and elegance. The grapes used for this wine come from McLaren Vale and Heathcote, two of the best Shiraz regions in the world.

LILLET - Blanc 75cl Bottle
Lillet (pronounced lee-lay), is a French Aperitif made from a blend of wine, liqueurs, fruits and herbs. It originated in the French village of Podensac and has been made since the late 1800s. Lillet Blanc is made from white wine and is drier than Lillet Rouge, its red-wine counterpart. Both are classically served over ice with an orange twist. Lillet is a blend of rigorously selected wines and fruit liqueurs, aged in oak vats for around 12 months, during which it is given the same care as the Grands Crus (great wines) of Bordeaux. Lillet Blanc has a golden colour with candied orange, honey, pine resin, lime and fresh mint aromas.Full and rich on the palate with a lovely, long aftertaste. Always serve well chilled in a Bordeaux wine glass... zest with a slice of orange or lime. Perfect with snacks and desserts! Lillet blanc is the key ingredient in James Bond's Martini derivative, the Vesper, a drink created in deference to the beautiful double agent in Ian Fleming's Casino Royale and reffered to as Kina Lillet.

2005 Pinot Noir 'Fleur Bleue', Vin de Pays d'Oc
'Fleur Bleue' is a term the French use for charmingly unworldly people like Amélie Poulain or Monsieur Hulot. Given that this stylish Pinot Noir was made by efficient top Languedoc cellar Domaine de Cousserges, an ancient royal estate between Montpelier and Beziers. Elegant, silky, smoky black cherry flavour and an appetising toasty edge, at its best with roast chicken.

On the palate it is easy to drink with a dry, refreshing and well-structured finish.More on Alsace... The tale of the Alsatian vineyard is an intriguing one. This revolution changed the face of Alsatian winemaking forever. In 1962, the Appellation d'Origine Contr
Solaia 2007, P. Antinori, Tuscany
"The 2007 Solaia saturates the palate with a heady array of super-ripe black cherries, plums, cassis, mocha and sweet French oak. There is an exotic quality to the Solaia I find totally irresistible. Despite its considerable ripeness and opulence, the 2007 Solaia is never heavy, rather it impresses for its extraordinary finesse and balance. Minerals, graphite and crushed rocks frame a long, seductive finish. This is a wonderful Solaia loaded with vintage and vineyard character". 97 points. Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate.
BERONIA - Reserva 2006 75cl Bottle
It has an ageing process of 18 months in mixed barrels of French and American oak, and two years of ageing in the bottle. A wine with a ruby, deep-red colour with slight ochre undertones. LANGLOIS-CHATEAU - Saumur Vielles Vignes, Chenin Blanc 2004 75cl Bottle
The Saumur Blanc Vieilles Vignes, from a particular gnarly old vineyard is an extraordinary wine and the definition of Chenin Blanc. Honeyed and floral with powerful fruit, well-judged oak and a herby hazelnut hint. The Saumur Blanc Vielles Vignes has a wonderful ability to accompany diverse fish dishes, especially white fish in cream sauces and where subsidiary flavours such as dill or almond become part of the dish. It would be equally at home accompanying one of northern France's soft ripe cheeses and will also pair well with oysters, scallops and other seafood. The Vieilles Vignes cuvèe is produced from two low yielding 1 hectare plots of Chenin Blanc, both well in excess of 35 years old. The soil is the characteristic Saumur mixture of sand and limestone, with a high calcium content vital for the preservation of the acidity in the fruit and therefore allowing for a longer ripening period which concentrates and enhances the flavours. The Langlois-Château Chenin vineyards are around St Florent. The grapes are hand harvested with several 'tries' - or passes through the vineyards - to ensure all fruit is of optimum ripeness. The fruit is gently pressed and fermented to dryness in barrel. The oak employed allows the Chenin flavours to shine, without being masked by excessive new oak character. Nevertheless barrel-fermentation allows for a gentler, longer and more extended flavour development. The wine rests on its lees for a further 10 months in barrel, which imparts a richness and nutty character to augment the fruit flavours. If further aged (for up to fifteen years) the wine will develop a deep honey colour and character with the richness and spicy nutty flavours complementing the deep, candied fruit characters of an aged wine.
2009 Château Perron, Lalande de Pomerol, En primeur, 12 bottle case 12 bottles per case
This Right Bank estate is currently in the very capable hands of Bertrand Massonie – who is the third generation of the family to run it. Fifteen hectares on sandy gravel top-soil over ferruginous sub-soil planted to 80% Merlot and 10% of both Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Minimal use of chemicals (lutte raisonée), unrivalled attention to detail in the vineyards and hand picked grapes contribute towards the quality here. 30% new oak will round out this wine to perfection, and I envisage this in 8 years time as being the perfect bottle to be enjoyed with roast lamb. It will evolve into a delightfully ‘grown-up’ claret, with its combined red and black fruit attributes and some attractive tobacco leaf tones. Very good. 2017 – 2022.
CONCHA Y TORO - Trio Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 75cl Bottle
The blend combines 70% Cabernet Sauvignon giving structure and fruit concentration. The Shiraz (15%) contributes richness and intense aroma while the Cabernet Franc (15%) brings elegance and freshness. Trio wines are a true expression of fruit from one of Chile's most revered winemakers. Each Trio wine is a blend of three different grape varieties, or in the case of the Sauvignon Blanc, a blend of grapes from three distinct vineyards, skilfully transformed into fruity, complex wines.

2009 Côtes du Rhône Villages 'Le Ponnant', Le Ferme du Mont
Stephane Vedeau owns this 50 hectare estate and heads up a youthful team. Enthusiasm is the order of the day here. All the vines are cultivated with a regards to the environment and so no herbicides or pesticides are used. We visited the cellars on the day that the mobile bottling plant had arrived and France were playing in the world cup. It was chaos, we tasted in a corridor with people dashing to fetch capsules or to hurry over to the TV to catch up on the latest score. Stephane remained calm throughout and his wines shone through. In order to allow the full expression of a terroir both maritime and continental which is associated with the rounded stones found in this region, our Côtes du Rhône is matured in traditional concrete tubs, out of contact with the air, for at least 8 months. This purist approach allows the tertiary aromas unique to this region to develop fully.
2005 Vouvray Moelleux 'Le Haut Lieu' Domaine Huet
Gaston Huet was a hero of French viticulture. He relentlessly championed the cause of top quality wine and his own beloved Vouvray in particular. He established his domaine as the standard for all others. As mayor of the village of Vouvray for many years he presided over the rise of the Vouvray appelation and exerted influence to promote the wines at every occasion. One notable battle was when he forced the TGV line that was being built through his region to be laid on rubber shock absorbers lest the vibrations disturb the wine in the cellars. The domaine is now ably run by his son in law Noel Pinguet.
2007 Chinon Cuvee Terroirs, Charles Joguet
In the 1950s, pioneering non-conformist Loire vigneron Charles Joguet determined that grapes from varying vineyards should be vinified separately to maximise expression of terroir and preserve fruit vibrancy. This youthful wine, made from the fruit of 15-year-old vines in Chinon (an appellation devoted to the Cabernet Franc grape) offers a wonderful combination of earthy vigour and ripe, juicy raspberry and redcurrant flavours. Ideal with delicatessen meats.
